Julia Barretto Shares Cryptic Posts After Dennis Padilla’s Rant
JULIA BARRETTO – The actress has stirred online attention after sharing cryptic Instagram Stories about a “narcissistic parent,” shortly after her father Dennis Padilla publicly expressed frustration over being left out of her sister Claudia Barretto’s wedding.
Though the posts have since been deleted, Julia shared three striking quotes that many believe were directed at her father. The first quote stated, “A narcissist doesn’t care about being a good parent—they just care about looking like one.” This was followed by, “To a narcissist, the kids are just pawns in their war to break you.” Lastly, she posted, “A narcissist favorite role? The victim. Because it distracts from the damage they caused.”
These posts came after Dennis aired his grievances in an interview with Ogie Diaz. He became emotional while talking about how hurt he felt when Claudia chose their mother, Marjorie Barretto, to walk her down the aisle instead of him. According to Dennis, both he and his family were deeply affected by what they felt was a lack of respect.

Dennis also claimed that before he took his emotions to social media, he tried reaching out multiple times to Julia and his son Leon through messages and calls, but received no response.

Narcissism, as explained in psychology sources, is a condition where a person has an exaggerated sense of self-importance, craves admiration, and lacks empathy. A narcissistic parent is often described as someone who puts their own needs before their children’s and uses emotional manipulation to maintain control.

Julia’s recent posts, paired with her silence during her father’s outburst, have sparked conversations online about family dynamics, emotional boundaries, and the lasting effects of strained parent-child relationships.
