ZACH YADEGARI – An 18-year-old entrepreneur from the United States has become a millionaire through his innovative startup, Cal AI.
His company created a calorie-tracking app that helps users monitor their food intake by simply taking a picture of their meals. The app has been very successful, with over a million downloads, according to TechCrunch. Despite his success, Zach faced rejection from several top universities, including Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Stanford, and MIT. Out of the 18 universities he applied to, 15 turned him down, even though he had a perfect 4.0 GPA.
The reason for his rejection seems to be his admission essay, in which he questioned the value of a traditional college education in today’s world. In the essay, Zach argued that college was more than just a milestone; it was a way to improve the work he was already passionate about. This unconventional idea likely made admissions officers worry that Zach might not finish his degree. However, Zach was accepted into the Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Miami.
Zach’s journey into business started early. He began coding at the age of seven and created his first app when he was 12. By 16, he sold an online gaming business, which gave him the money to start Cal AI. At first, Zach wasn’t sure if he needed college. However, after visiting the Ryoan-ji rock garden in Kyoto, Japan, he changed his mind and saw college as an opportunity to learn more.
His success story has sparked many discussions online, with many people agreeing that his achievements show that college isn’t the only path to success. Zach’s experience shows that other paths, like starting a business, can also lead to great success.
