Eat Bulaga Contestant Accidentally Says Profanity on Air
RAHUL SINGH – An Indian contestant on Foreignoy: The Afam Invasion segment of Eat Bulaga, unintentionally caused a stir when he uttered a Filipino curse word during a live episode on April 2.
During the segment, host Maine Mendoza asked Rahul what Tagalog words he had learned from his Filipino friends. Without hesitation, he responded with a profanity, unaware of its meaning. This surprised hosts Maine Mendoza, Miles Ocampo, and Ryan Agoncillo, who immediately apologized to viewers, explaining that Rahul did not realize the word was inappropriate.
Rahul promptly apologized but inadvertently repeated the word while trying to clarify his mistake. The hosts quickly intervened, redirected the conversation, and reassured viewers that it was unintentional.

Despite the slip-up, Rahul was not disqualified and ended up tying with another contestant. Following the incident, Maine and Ryan reminded Filipinos to be mindful of the words they teach foreigners, as they may unknowingly say something offensive.
The incident quickly gained attention online, with netizens speculating whether the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) would issue a warning to Eat Bulaga for airing the remark.

To recall, in August 2023, Wally Bayola publicly apologized for using explicit language during the Sugod Bahay mga Kapatid segment of E.A.T.. During the episode, Wally and his co-host Jose Manalo were conversing with E.A.T. hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon (TVJ). While the camera was focused on Jose, Wally—who was off-screen at the time—was overheard uttering an inappropriate word. Even TVJ appeared surprised and tried to stop him.
It remains unclear whether Wally was aware that his microphone was still on. Following the incident, some netizens called the attention of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), questioning whether the agency would take action. This speculation arose due to MTRCB Chair Lala Sotto’s connection to E.A.T., as she is the daughter of Tito Sotto. After receiving backlash online, Wally issued a public apology, admitting his mistake and asking for understanding from the audience.
