PCO Issues Statement over Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s Arrest upon Arrival from Hong Kong
RODRIGO DUTERTE’S ARREST – The Presidential Communications Office confirmed that the former President who just arrived from Hong Kong was arrested.
The rumored arrest warrant against former Pres. Duterte by the International Criminal Court (ICC) has gathered different reactions over the weekend. The former President has even spoken about it when he was in Hong Kong.

Duterte flew to Hong Kong for the thanksgiving event of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ which was supposedly a leg of the campaign sorties of the PDP-Laban. However, the Hong Kong authorities told them not to campaign in a public assembly.

Speaking to Filipinos, former Pres. Duterte stressed that the ICC was after him since then and he just did things for the peace and safety of his countrymen. According to him, if the accusations are true, he did it for the Filipino people and the youth.

Recently, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte arrived from Hong Kong. Before he disembarked the plane, he stressed that he will never be on the side of the white races. According to him, they should just have to “kill” him.
Shortly after the former Chief Executive made the statement, rumors that he was arrested crossed the surface. The Presidential Communications Office has released a statement.
Through a statement posted on their official Facebook page, the PCO confirmed former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s arrest. The Interpol Manila received the copy of a warrant of arrest from the International Criminal Court (ICC) early today.
Based on the statement, upon the arrival of Duterte from Hong Kong today, the Prosecutor General filed the ICC notification for an arrest warrant against the former Chief Executive over the alleged crimes against humanity. Duterte and his camp were checked by a government doctor.
Furthermore, based on the post, it was made sure that the former President is in good health. The PNP officials that were tasked to serve former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s arrest warrant also had a body camera. Currently, he is in the custody of the authorities.

Previously, amid the rumors, Malacañang spoke about its stand on the possible arrest warrant versus former Pres. Duterte.
