Mark Herras Denies Romantic Links W/Jojo Mendrez
MARK HERRAS – Kapuso star Mark Herras sets the record straight, emphasizing that there is “nothing romantic” about the surprise bouquet he gave to Jojo Mendrez.
Weeks after presenting Jojo Mendrez with a bouquet of flowers at a media gathering, actor Mark Herras clarified that the gesture was purely one of support and had no romantic implications.
The unexpected gift fueled speculation about a possible romance between the two, especially since it came just moments after Mendrez publicly denied any romantic involvement with Herras. Addressing the rumors, Herras spoke with showbiz reporter Rodel Fernando via Facebook to set the record straight.

“Just to be there and show my support kay Jojo. I mean, yeah, we started as [katrabaho], and eventually, naging close friends kami. Wala namang masama magbigay ng bulaklak,” Herras explained.
The “Starstruck” alum emphasized that he and Mendrez share a strong friendship and professional relationship, asserting that people will always interpret situations in their own way.
“Ganito lang ho ‘yan. Kapag sinabi kong meron, ang daming magrereact. Ang daming magbabash or magsasabi ng kung ano-ano. Kapag sinabi kong hindi, magtatanong pa rin sila. So bahala sila. Bahala po kayo isipin kung anong gusto niyong isipin, basta wala kaming ginagawang masama,” he stated.
Herras further reiterated that their bond is strictly platonic and work-related, dismissing any controversy. “We have this very, very good relationship as friends and colleagues. ‘Yung mga nangyayari ngayon and sa mga issues, kayo na bahala… Nagtatrabaho lang ang tao.”

When asked about the possibility of men developing romantic feelings for each other, Herras, who was raised by his adoptive gay parents, acknowledged that it is possible. “Based on my experience kasi, may gay parents kasi ako eh, so it’s possible. Hindi ko naman sinasabi na hindi mangyayari kasi with my parents, it happened with them. Kung possible bang mainlove ang lalaki sa kapwa niyang lalaki, oo naman,” he noted.
Rumors about Herras and Mendrez’s relationship intensified when they were seen together at a hotel casino in Parañaque in February, though Mendrez quickly denied any romantic connection in a Facebook statement.
Meanwhile, Mendrez, known as the “Revival King,” recently released his first original song, “Nandito Lang Ako,” composed by renowned OPM songwriter and record producer Jonathan Manalo. The song explores themes of patience, sacrifice, and unconditional love. Mendrez is best known for his rendition of “Somewhere in My Past,” originally performed by the late actress-singer Julie Vega.
