Is Pres. Bongbong Marcos Referring to Statement of Ex-Pres. Duterte at PDP-Laban Rally?
BONGBONG MARCOS – Is the Philippine President taking a swipe on the controversial remark of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte against 15 senators?
Amid the 2025 Midterm Elections fast approaching, several political parties have announced their bets for the different positions which there will be a poll in May. One of these is the PDP-Laban which supports the candidacy of 9 senatorial candidates in the upcoming election.

Pastor Apollo Quiboloy who is one of the senatorial candidates in Comelec’s final list is one of those endorsed by the PDP-Laban to which former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte belongs. It is no secret to the public that Duterte and Quiboloy are good friends. The former President even vowed to campaign for the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder and leader who is currently detained.

Here are the nine (9) senatorial candidates in the 2025 Midterm Election that the PDP-Laban supports:
- Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa
- detained Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy
- Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go
- ex-presidential adviser for Northern Luzon Raul Lambino
- musician and lawyer Jimmy Bondoc
- SAGIP party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta
- former Interior Undersecretary Jayvee Hinlo
- former executive secretary Vic Rodriguez
- actor Philip Salvador

A proclamation rally was held by the PDP-Laban and it was attended by former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte were also present at the rally.
However, a statement of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte at the recent proclamation rally of the PDP-Laban did not sit well with many people. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the former Chief Executive issued a “kill” remark against 15 senators so their posts would be vacant and the PDP-Laban’s bets can take the posts.

Several people reacted to the statement of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos also gave a statement which seemingly chides on the controversial remark of Duterte against 15 senators.
“Narinig lang natin nung isang araw, wala daw pag-asa siguro… wala silang pag-asa kaya papatay na lang sila ng 15 senador,” Marcos said.
Based on a report on GMA News’ Balitambayan, Pres. Bongbong Marcos further expressed confusion on why some people allegedly thinks eliminating their fellow Filipinos is the only solution to achieve their intention.
“Sabagay, mahirap naman ang ibang tao, ang iniisip lang nila ang kaisa-isang solusyon sa lahat ng problema ay pumatay pa ng Pilipino. Nakakapagtaka kung bakit ganoon,” the President said.
Sen. Bato Dela Rosa has also reacted on the “kill” remark of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. He is one of the senatorial candidates endorsed by the PDP-Laban.
