Puppy Saved by Mother Dog by Being Brought to the Vet
TURKEY – A mother dog captured the hearts of many in Istanbul with a touching display of devotion to her puppies. On January 13, a concerned citizen brought a sick puppy to a veterinary clinic in Beylikduzu after finding it on the street. The clinic staff quickly treated the puppy.
However, an unexpected scene unfolded shortly after. The clinic’s technician noticed another dog at the entrance, carrying a second puppy in her mouth. It was assumed to be the mother of the first puppy. Realizing the urgency, a vet staff member approached the mother dog, who seemed desperate. Upon examining the second puppy, they found it shaking from the cold with a dangerously low heart rate.
Surveillance footage from the clinic showed the dog anxiously following the staff as they treated the unconscious puppy. The clinic staff’s prompt response saved the puppy’s life.
Dr. Baturalp Oghan, the attending veterinarian, shared that the mother dog and her puppies were receiving ongoing treatment. Due to the critical condition of the puppies, the clinic temporarily paused accepting other animals to focus on their care and ensure they had no contagious diseases.
Dr. Oghan expressed admiration for the mother dog’s intelligence and care for her pups, highlighting the deep bond she exhibited. Unfortunately, it was discovered that the mother dog was also unwell and lacked enough milk, which may have led to the loss of her other puppies. The clinic is now feeding the surviving puppies with a suitable formula.
The touching video of the mother dog’s actions went viral, prompting numerous inquiries from people wanting to check on the animals’ well-being and explore adoption possibilities. Dr. Oghan explained that the mother dog likely brought the second puppy to the clinic after noticing that the first one had been taken there for help.
