The Calumpit Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) confirmed that the fatalities included the driver and the sole passenger of the tricycle. Videos of the rescue operations and the harrowing aftermath of the crash quickly spread online.
Of the 18 injured, seven were identified as students from Bulacan State University (BulSU), as noted by BulSU Student Government President Queenie Quintero.
