Marian Rivera, one of the Philippines’ most beloved box-office stars, recently shared her heartfelt sentiments about her greatest achievement in life—her family.
In an interview with Editor’s Notes, Marian revealed that her childhood experience of growing up in a separated family shaped her aspirations. Born to a Spanish father and a Filipino mother, her parents separated when she was only three years old. Raised by her maternal grandmother while her mother worked abroad, Marian dreamed of having a complete and loving family of her own.
“That’s my dream talaga kasi solong anak lang ako and I have a separated family. Kaya talagang my goal is to have a whole family with kids, so binigay sa akin ni Lord ‘yan,” she said.
Now happily married to fellow actor Dingdong Dantes, Marian finds immense joy and purpose in her role as a wife and mother to their two children, Zia and Sixto. She described them as her ultimate motivation and inspiration.
“So para sa akin, ‘yan ‘yung pinaka-core ko, kung bakit ako lumalaban, kung bakit ko ginagawa ito, at kung bakit ko love ‘yung mga ginagawa ko kasi sila talaga ‘yung inspiration ko,” she shared.
Marian also expressed gratitude to her home network, GMA, for supporting her priorities. She emphasized that her family remains her top priority, and she appreciates how her management aligns with her values.
“Basta siguro alam mo at malinaw sa’yo ‘yung priority mo. Ako, priority ko talaga number one is my family. Well, suportado ako with GMA diyan, suportado din ako ng management ko na anything na nangyayari at kailangan ako ng kids ko, sila muna,” she said.
Marian believes that clarity in priorities makes life more manageable and fulfilling. For her, balancing her career and family has been a natural flow, thanks to her unwavering commitment to what matters most.
