John Estrada Reacts to Rumors Linking Him to Barbie Imperial
JOHN ESTRADA – The actor has strongly refuted rumors linking him with actress Barbie Imperial.
Recently, online gossip suggested a romantic involvement between John and Barbie, both of whom star in the Kapamilya primetime series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo. The speculation was fueled by the notion of a rift between Barbie and her rumored boyfriend, Richard Gutierrez.
John addressed these allegations directly on his Instagram account, sharing a screenshot from an online post about the spreading rumors. The screenshot featured photos of Richard’s mother, Annabelle Rama, alongside pictures of Barbie, Richard, and John. It was marked with “Fake News” to emphasize the falsehood of the claim.
John expressed his disbelief over the origins of these rumors, stating he barely knew Barbie. He mentioned seeing her only once during an ABS-CBN Christmas special, but he was unsure if it was in 2021 or 2022. He clarified that, contrary to the rumors, they never interacted on the set of Batang Quiapo as they belong to different groups, units, and directors, making it impossible for them to work together in any scenes.
In his plea to the media and online entertainment platforms, John urged careful verification of stories before publication to prevent the spread of misinformation.
This isn’t the first time John has been involved in rumors linking him with other women. Last year, he was spotted with a woman in a bar, which sparked controversy, especially since he is married to Brazilian beauty queen Priscilla Meirelles, despite public knowledge of issues in their relationship.
In a message to PEP.ph, John stated that he does not owe the public any explanations regarding his personal life, asserting his freedom to interact with anyone he chooses, male or female. He pointed out that his status as a public figure doesn’t invalidate his right to form friendships, like any ordinary person.
