Father Marries Son’s Ex-Girlfriend
LIU LIANGE – The former Chairman of the Bank of China became notorious not only for his corruption but also for an unusual chapter in his personal life. Liu, 63, forced his son to break up with his girlfriend, only to marry her himself.
The controversy began when Liu’s son introduced his girlfriend, expressing his plans to marry her. However, Liu, captivated by her beauty, discouraged the relationship, claiming that she came from a problematic background and was seeking wealth and influence. Despite his son’s efforts to defend her character, Liu remained firm. Under immense pressure from his father, the son ended the relationship.
To ensure his son moved on, Liu arranged a match between him and the daughter of a family friend. Meanwhile, Liu pursued his son’s ex-girlfriend, showering her with extravagant gifts, including luxury items and jewelry. Eventually, the young woman succumbed to Liu’s relentless advances, and they began a relationship.
Six months later, Liu’s son was devastated to discover that his ex-girlfriend had become his third stepmother. Liu had married her, leaving his son heartbroken and spiraling into severe depression. The son required hospitalization due to the emotional turmoil.
According to PEP.ph, Liu’s fourth marriage was short-lived. His career unraveled after allegations of corruption surfaced. He was accused of accepting bribes worth 121 million yuan and issuing illegal loans totaling 3.32 billion yuan. These actions led to his dismissal from the Communist Party, multiple lawsuits, and ultimately a death sentence in 2024, which was later suspended to life imprisonment if he maintains good behavior for two years.
Today, Liu remains incarcerated, while the fate of his fourth wife remains unknown. His actions left a legacy of betrayal and scandal, impacting not only his family but also his reputation in Chinese society.
