Rr Enriquez Reacts to the Issue of Neri Naig

Rr Enriquez on Neri Naig: “I feel like she’s just a victim”

RR ENRIQUEZ – The former TV host turned influencer shared her thoughts on the controversy surrounding celebrity mom and entrepreneur Neri Naig.

Rr pointed out how difficult it must be to be an endorser of a product or business because, as an endorser, you are expected to speak positively about what you’re promoting. This becomes tricky if something goes wrong with the business you’re endorsing, as it can unfairly involve you in the situation. She emphasized how it seems unfair that Neri is being blamed for the company’s failure, especially when her role was simply to recommend it. Rr questioned whether Neri was involved in signing any legal agreements with the investors, suggesting that if she wasn’t, it might be unjust to hold her responsible.

Rr also raised concerns about how people sometimes get punished without fully understanding the situation, particularly when it comes to influencers or endorsers. She called for more education on legal matters to help people better understand what is right and wrong in these situations, especially for those in the public eye.

She ended by reminding everyone to be careful and wise when choosing businesses or investments to support, as scams and dishonest companies are common. Rr expressed support for Neri, encouraging her to stay strong and assuring her that if Neri had acted with honesty and good intentions, justice would prevail.

Meanwhile, Neri Naig Miranda was arrested on November 23, 2024, facing 14 charges related to violating the Securities Regulation Code (SRC) and syndicated estafa. These charges stem from her promotion of an investment program for Dermacare, a beauty clinic, where investors were promised returns, but many experienced issues such as bounced checks and unfulfilled financial promises.

Although Neri, who is married to Chito Miranda, ended her association with Dermacare in September 2023 as a franchisee and endorser, she remains involved in the case filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in May 2024. Each SRC violation carries a bail of ₱126,000, but the charge of syndicated estafa, which involves a fraudulent scheme by a group, is non-bailable and could result in life imprisonment if she is found guilty.
