Larry Gadon Regrets Supporting the Dutertes

Larry Gadon Expresses Regret Over Backing the Dutertes

LARRY GADON – The disbarred lawyer and anti-poverty czar expressed regret over his past support for the Duterte family after filing a disbarment case against Vice President Sara Duterte.

In an interview on Wednesday, November 27, Gadon admitted he did not expect such behavior from the Duterte family. “Hindi ko naman akalaing ganyan pala sila, e. ‘Yong statements ni Vice President Sara, napaka-immature. Kulang na kulang sa statesmanship,” Gadon remarked. He added, “Saka hindi siya nag-aaral. Basta na lang siyang nagsasalita kagaya no’ng sa healthcare issues.. […] She is totally detached from reality.”

However, Gadon clarified that his filing of the disbarment case against the vice president was not an act of gratitude toward President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., who had appointed him to a cabinet position. “Mas malaki ang kinikita ko when I was in private practice. I was a corporate executive. But this is just a commitment to help the president; to help the country,” he said.

Recently, Duterte revealed in a virtual press conference that if someone ever attempts to kill her, she has already instructed a person to assassinate the president, his wife, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

This came after the House of Representatives cited her chief of staff, Zuleika Lopez, for contempt during a hearing by the House committee on good government and public accountability. The issue stemmed from a letter sent by the Office of the Vice President (OVP) to the Commission on Audit (COA), advising against disclosing the agency’s audit findings to the House.

Meanwhile, Larry Gadon is a politician, disbarred lawyer, and radio broadcaster serving as the Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation since June 2023. Known for his controversial statements, he unsuccessfully ran for the Senate three times and has faced multiple disbarment cases due to offensive behavior.
