Pres. Bongbong Marcos Reacts To Impeachment Plan against VP Sara Duterte
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President revealed that he told the House lawmakers not to file an impeachment rap against VP Sara Duterte.
Countless Filipinos were surprised when a member of the House of Representatives recently revealed an impeachment plan in the lower chamber against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The plan is on the works amid several issues and accusations surrounding the second highest official in the government.
According to ACT Teachers party-list Rep. France Castro, there are a lot of signatories who are in favor of launching an impeachment rap against the Vice President. She is confident that the number in the House is enough for a successful impeachment rap against Duterte and they can send it to the Senate.
Duterte is currently surrounded by several issues — from snubbing the House deliberation of the 2025 budget proposal of the OVP, to not attending the hearings set to investigate the OVP and DepEd confidential funds utilization, to her tirades against Pres. Marcos and his family.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously accused Pres. Bongbong Marcos of allegedly not knowing how to be a president. Duterte also linked the Marcos family to the death of Ninoy Aquino. It gained a reaction from Ninoy’s grandson who made a request not to mention their family amid the Duterte-Marcos feud.
Currently, the investigation in the House of Representatives regarding the budget use of the DepEd and the OVP is ongoing. Following a House lawmaker revealing the impeachment plana against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, Pres. Bongbong Marcos unveiled his side.
Based on a report on GMA News, Pres. Bongbong Marcos revealed that he allegedly personally communicated with the House lawmakers encouraging them not to file an impeachment rap versus Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. According to the Chief Executive, it is not important and it will not benefit the life of a single Filipino.
“Why waste time on this? What will happen to the– if somebody files an impeachment? It will tie down the House, it will tie down the Senate. It will just take up all our time, for what? For nothing,” the President said.
Based on the report, the private message of Pres. Bongbong Marcos over the impeachment plan against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte leaked. He stressed that it is really his opinion.
The message was: “In the larger scheme of things, Sara is unimportant. So please do not file impeachment complaints.”
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has summoned Vice Pres. Duterte over her statement against Pres. Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez. She also accused the First Lady of allegedly being the person behind the cash-filled envelopes given to the DepEd officials during her term.
