Is Rufa Mae Quinto Ready to Become a Regular on the Noontime Show?
RUFA MAE QUINTO – GMA-7 comediane Rufa Mae Quinto teased about becoming a regular host on variety show It’s Showtime.
This Friday, September 6, at noon, the popular program “It’s Showtime” was full of humor and good times. The Kapuso comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto helped to raise the spirits even further.
The comedian became a special guest judge for the popular segment “Kalokalike,” which debuted on Monday, September 2. Because of Rufa’s lively presence on the show, the “It’s Showtime” cast teased her. Vice Ganda made the lighthearted observation that Rufa Mae appeared to be hoping to be a regular on the show.
“Nagme-meeting ‘yung mga staff kahapon. Sabi nila, ‘Paano ba natin pauwiin si Rufa Mae?’ Hindi na daw umuuwi. Kasi ang usapan one day guesting lang ito. Ginawa niyang regular ang sarili niya. Kaya araw-araw pumapasok siya,” Vice said. “Kailan ka talaga uuwi? Teh, talagang naging regular [ka] na.”
Quinto playfully responded, “Hindi nga, hanggang Sunday nandito ako, ‘di ba?”
Everyone was entertained by Quinto’s energy. The hosts of the variety show even joked about giving them a discount on her talent fee. Quinto said, “Sige, pwede naman basta ano I sign my regular. I sign my regular nga lang.”
Vice Ganda continued the teasing, “Tapos kahapon natapos ang [It’s] Showtime, nandito pa mga alas tres. [Sabi ng staff], ‘Ms. Rufa Mae, tapos na po ba’t ‘di kayo umuuwi?’ [Sagot ni Rufa], ‘Baka may brainstorm ng mga bagong segment.’”
When Rufa Mae and Vice discussed their dressing room moments, the audience erupted in laughter.
“Actually hinahanap ko ‘yung dressing mo kahapon. Hindi ka nandoon kahapon,” Quinto said.
“Lumipat ako kasi natagpuan niya na ako. Sinasabi niya, ‘My friend Meme, ano bagong segment natin dyan?’ [Sabi ko], ‘Huh? Nag-iisip pa kami’,” the Unkabogable star bantered.
The fun continued as Rufa Mae jokingly added, “I’m happy happy super kasi sabi ko nga sa’yo ‘di ba, ang gagaling ninyong lahat kaya gusto ko gumising nang nakangiti rin sa mukha kahit sandali. Kaya I regular and approve myself. Hindi na basta regular i-approved ko na.”
