Jose Mari Chan Shares His Biggest Christmas Wish
JOSE MARI CHAN – Filipino singer-songwriter Jose Mari Chan revealed what he wants most for Christmas.
When we hear Jose Mari Chan’s iconic song “Christmas in Our Hearts,” it’s a sure sign that the ‘BER’ months have arrived. In a previous interview with GMANetwork.com, Mr. Chan reflected on why Christmas celebrations in the Philippines stand out.
He explained, “Well because it is essentially centered around the family… So, we grew up spending Christmas with our family unlike in the U.S. for example they don’t say Merry Christmas they say Happy Holidays. And they talk to Santa Claus and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”
This year, the Christmas spirit arrived early on It’s Showtime as Jose Mari Chan made a special appearance. The beloved Filipino singer-songwriter gave a touching performance, singing Christmas classics like “A Perfect Christmas” and “Christmas In Our Hearts.”
After his performance, Chan expressed how happy he is that his Christmas songs bring joy to Filipinos. “I feel blessed talaga that because of my Christmas songs, it has given joy to our countrymen. It’s a blessing to me. Thank you, Lord,” he said.
He also shared that his favorite Christmas songs he has written are “A Perfect Christmas” and “A Christmas Song For You,” both of which he wrote for his wife.

During the show, host Ogie Alcasid asked Chan about his Christmas wish. Chan responded, “My Christmas wish is good health for everyone. Good health for our country, prosperity. It is my dream that one day, every single Filipino will be educated. That’s my wish, that’s my dream, and let’s all help to make that come true. The spirit of Christmas is giving and sharing. So let’s share our blessings with those in need.”
