Alice Guo: Warden Says Former Mayor Was ‘Shocked’ After Seeing Jail Cell

Warden Reports Former Mayor Alice Guo Was ‘Shocked’ Upon Seeing Jail Cell

ALICE GUO – BJMP Spokesperson Jail Superintendent Jayrex Bustinera said controversial mayor Alice Guo was ‘shocked’ after seeing her jail cell.

Former Bamban mayor Alice Guo was arrested by Indonesian police in a rented apartment before being flown back to the Philippines by Philippine authorities. Guo is accused of participating in illicit Philippine offshore gaming operations in the Philippines.

She is also the subject of an identification investigation; according to officials, she is Guo Hua Ping, a Chinese national who entered the nation in 2003.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) previously established that the fingerprints of former Bamban Mayor and Guo Hua Ping matched. Despite this, Alice Guo persisted in claiming to be a citizen of the Philippines at recent Senate and House hearings.

In a recent Senate hearing, Guo denied being the mastermind behind illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations, claiming she is a victim and hinting that authorities may already know who is truly in charge. According to a GMA News report, she maintained her innocence, stating she was neither guilty nor manipulated, and any help she provided was simply because of her helpful nature.

Alice Guo appeared “shocked” upon seeing her cell in Pasig City Jail. A Regional Trial Court in Pasig City had ordered her transfer from the PNP Custodial Facility in Camp Crame to a regular cell. BJMP spokesperson, Jail Superintendent Jayrex Bustinera, told ABS-CBN that the warden reported Guo was visibly stunned by the conditions of her cell, which she likely did not expect. She is currently sharing the cell with six other Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).

“How was the first night of former Bamban Mayor Alice Guo in the Pasig City Jail? Tell us more about what happened in the last 24 hours,” the news anchor of ANC/ABS-CBN inquired.

“Well, after we sent her to her assigned cell at around 3:43PM yesterday, the feedback from our female warden there was that she was “shocked” with the conditions of her cell because I think she was expecting a different cell,” Superintendent Bustinera said.

“During the night, there was no incident reported to us as to any negative incident or any incident report. We have received no report yet so we believe she had a normal situation in the Pasig City Jail female dorm,” the BJMP Spokesperson added.
