Niño Muhlach Becomes Emotional for Son During Senate Inquiry
NIÑO MUHLACH – The actor-businessman broke down emotionally as he recounted the traumatic experience his son, Sandro Muhlach, endured during a Senate Inquiry led by Senator Robin Padilla.
The inquiry was initiated following Sandro’s formal complaint against two GMA Network independent contractors, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, who are accused of inappropriately touching him at the GMA Gala 2024.
Niño, a member of the Muhlach family, expressed profound distress over the situation. He had previously worked with Nones, who is the head writer of the TV sitcom “Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis” airing on GMA 7. Niño admitted he was shocked that Nones could commit such acts, given their professional relationship and his respect for Nones.
Niño revealed that Sandro first confided in his brother, Alonzo Muhlach, before coming to him with the details. He criticized the accused for allegedly misrepresenting the facts on social media and expressed frustration about the potential impact this case could have on the industry. His emotional state was so intense that it led to elevated blood pressure, requiring medical attention.
Niño questioned how such actions could occur to a family with a significant contribution to the entertainment industry, suggesting that if such acts can happen to them, they could happen to others, especially newcomers. He expressed further distress over how Nones and Cruz have allegedly distorted the situation in their comments and press releases.
“Nakakasama ng loob kung kayang gawin sa, di ko naman … ang talagang malaking kontribusyon sa industriyang ito, what more sa iba, what more sa baguhan? Di ko sinasabing may ginawa silang iba pero kung kaya nilang sa isang pamilya na may pundasyon sa industriyang ito what more sa iba?” he stressed.
Apparently, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz were not present during the Senate hearing.
