Kind Jeepney Driver Offers Free Water to His Passengers
A jeepney driver has recently gained widespread admiration online for offering free water to his passengers.
A jeepney driver operates a traditional Filipino mode of public transportation known as a jeepney. Jeepneys are colorful, elongated vehicles that are commonly used for short to medium-distance travel within cities and towns in the Philippines.
Originally made from surplus military jeeps left by the Americans after World War II, jeepneys have evolved into a popular and iconic form of transit in the country.
Recently, Rowena Gonda, a Facebook user, shared a photo of the free water being distributed inside the jeepney. The post immediately spread like wildfire on social media and garnered various reactions from the online community.
In the photo, a styrofoam box can be seen inside the public utility jeepney. The box has a note informing the passengers about the free water being provided.
While it is not mandatory for drivers to provide additional services, the driver went above and beyond to make sure his passengers were comfortable. The driver was operating a jeepney on the Bauan route.
“Nakakatuwa naman si manong driver may libreng mineral water. Salute po sayo sir! Godbless you po,” Gonda said.
While drivers are already tasked with the important job of safely transporting passengers to their destinations, this driver took extra steps to ensure their comfort. By handing out free bottles of mineral water, he made the journey more pleasant for everyone on board.
His act of kindness has touched many, showing that small gestures can have a big impact. People have been expressing their gratitude and admiration for the driver’s thoughtfulness, with comments praising his golden heart and wishing him well.
It shows the fact that while drivers have a responsibility to get their passengers to their destinations safely, offering a little extra, like free water, can go a long way in making someone’s day better.
