Showtime Host Vice Ganda Takes Off Wig on Live TV
VICE GANDA – The Showtime host removed his wig to show support to a contestant of the show’s segment “EXpecially For You”.
In the Philippine entertainment industry, Vice is one of the most popular comedians. The success of his showbiz career has greatly changed his life and he has made a lot of projects that gathered the crowd in cinemas.
Vice is one of the mainstay hosts of the ABS-CBN noontime variety show It’s Showtime which is airing for more than a decade now. He is visibly in a happy relationship with his fellow Showtime host Ion Perez. He can buy the things that he wants or go for a vacation he long to experience.
However, despite his status in life now, Vice Ganda recently admitted that there is one thing that has previously affected his confidence in himself — the recession of his hairline. The Unkabogable Star shared about it during an episode of the show’s segment EXpecially For You.
Vice Ganda removed his wig during an episode of EXpecially For You to show support to a contestant with Alopecia, April. She appeared on the show with her ex-boyfriend, Andrei.
According to the couple, they had a good relationship. However, it came to the point when they went through a rough patch and she became busy supporting herself and her family as a working student. Then, she was also in grief over her father’s death and she had to take care of her ill mother as well.
Aside from the said challenges in her life, April shared that she was also dealing with Alopecia then and she was only wearing wig. It is an autoimmune disease characterized by either temporary or permanent hairloss. It brought her insecurity and the thought that Andrei deserve another person.
After hearing those words, Vice Ganda gave April a hug. He also opened up about his own challenge with hair loss saying that wearing a wig is not only for fashion. He stressed that it gives them power, strength, hope, and energy. Meanwhile, he realized that it is not all about one’s hair but the amount of love one has for himself/herself and how much he/she can love another person.
Vice wished that April can also find a man who will love her, kiss her, and tell her he loves her even when she has no wig.
