Government of Italy Offers To Pay for the Repopulation of Tuscany
ITALY – The Italian government is ready to pay qualified individuals who will live in Tuscany, a region in the central part of the country.
Across the globe, one of the countries that countless people want to visit is Italy. It is a European country with a long Mediterranean coastline with Rome as its capital. It is a beautiful country that is home to several tourist destinations and attractions.
However, there are still areas in the country which is the focus of some programs by the Italian government. One of these is Tuscany. It is the focus of the Residenzialita in Montagna or the Residency in the Mountains 2024.
Tuscany is a beautiful central region in Italy. It is the setting of the popular films including Life Is Beautiful (1997), Gladiator (2000), Under The Tuscan Sun (2003), The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2010). It is also the hometown of some popular Italians including Michelangelo.
Under the Residenzialita in Montagna, the Italy is ready to pay qualified individuals who want to live in Tuscany as permanent residents. It is in line with the pursuit of the Italian government “to favor and encourage the repopulation and socio-economic revitalization of mountain areas, acting in contrast to the marginalization of these areas”.
The application is open for Italian citizens, European Union (EU) citizens, and non-EU citizens with long-term residency of not less than 10 years. Qualified individuals whose application have been accepted may choose among the 76 towns in the region of Tuscany.
The deadline of the application for residency in Tuscany is until July 27, 2024. With regards to the cash assistance set under the Residenzialita in Montagna, the government of Italy allocated 2.8 million Euros or around Php 176 million.
