Enchong Dee Open to Boys’ Love Project
ENCHONG DEE – The Kapamilya actor and TV host is very open to taking on BL (Boys’ Love) projects as he wants to explore further in his acting career. He previously played a gay role in the comedy film “Here Comes The Groom,” where he received praise from the public.
During the recent Star Magic Spotlight press conference, the Best Supporting Actor awardee at the 7th The EDDYS (for GomBurZa) was asked if he was also open to serious gay roles that could potentially earn him a best actor trophy.
The actor shared that even before BL series became popular in the Philippines, he had already thought of a theme and concept for a film. He even pitched it to a friend who is an executive, but it didn’t materialize. Enchong said it might not have been the right time for him to do a BL project then.
According to him, If he receives an offer to do a film with an LGBTQIA+ theme, he is willing to accept it if the project is truly good and inspiring for viewers. When asked to choose from the popular and talented actors in the country for a potential project, he mentioned Jericho Rosales, Dingdong Dantes, Piolo Pascual, and Alden Richards.
Meanwhile, Enchong Dee, whose full name is Ernest Lorenzo Velasquez Dee, is a Filipino actor, model, and swimmer. He was born on November 5, 1988, in Naga City, Camarines Sur, Philippines. He is known for his work in television and film, primarily under ABS-CBN, one of the largest networks in the Philippines.
Dee began his career in the entertainment industry as a model and later transitioned into acting. He gained prominence through various television dramas, particularly for his roles in the popular TV series “Katorse,” “Magkaribal,” and “Ina, Kapatid, Anak.” His performances in these shows earned him recognition and several awards.
Apart from acting, Enchong Dee is also a competitive swimmer. He has represented the Philippines in various swimming competitions, including the Southeast Asian Games.
