Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Council to Grant P50,000 Couples Married for 50 Years or More
The Provincial Council of Nueva Vizcaya has approved an ordinance granting P50,000 to couples who have been married for 50 years or more.
A Golden Wedding Anniversary marks the 50th year of marriage between a couple. It is a significant milestone that celebrates half a century of commitment, love, and partnership. Traditionally, the golden anniversary is symbolized by gold, representing the strength, wealth, wisdom, and prosperity that come with such a long-lasting union.
Recently, Nueva Vizcaya’s new initiative called the “Enduring Devotion Award,” aims to honor and reward long-lasting marriages by granting P50,000 cash to couples who have been married for 50 years and above.
The ordinance, known as the “Enduring Devotion Award,” provides an incentive to couples who have been married for at least five decades. It also includes indigenous couples, who must have their union verified by the elders of their tribe.
Couples must meet the following criteria to qualify for the award:
- They must have a harmonious relationship without any cases of violence against women and their children (VAWC).
- They must have been residents of Nueva Vizcaya for at least 10 years.
- They must not have plans to separate through annulment.
The announcement has excited many senior citizens in Nueva Vizcaya, who are now retrieving their marriage certificates from storage. One such couple is Severo Domingo and his wife, Generosa Fabian-Domingo, who have been married for 57 years.
“Maganda itong nagawa ng gobyerno natin. Sana nga ipagpatuloy na itong ipinasa ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan para marami namang makinabang,” said Severo Domingo.
The implementing rules and regulations for the ordinance are currently being studied to ensure smooth execution. Once finalized, eligible couples can start receiving their well-deserved rewards.
This initiative not only celebrates the commitment and endurance of long-term marriages but also promotes the importance of stable and loving family relationships in the community.
