Comelec Confirms Mayor Alice Guo Is Being Investigated

ALICE GUO – The Commission on Election (Comelec) confirmed that the suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor may need to appear before them if a case will be filed over her questionable identity.

Despite the arrest order released by the Senate against Mayor Alice Guo, the suspended Mayor of Bamban, Tarlac has yet to appear or to be located by the authorities. The Senate’s Office of the Sergeant-At-Arms failed to locate the Mayor in all her registered addresses.

The OSAA also visited the farm and the garments factories of Mayor Guo but found only negative presence. Only her account, Nancy Guo, who is also a facing an arrest order was arrested by the authorities. He is currently detained in the Senate.

Recently, the Commission on Elections confirmed that they are also investigating Mayor Alice Guo over her questionable identity and the citizenship issues. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, it is in relation to her 2021-2022 candidacy.

According to Comelec chairman George Garcia, if a criminal case will be filed against Mayor Alice Guo, she may need to personally appear for the filing of her counter-affidavit. Based on the report, Garcia stressed that her lawyer cannot do it on her behalf.

The Comelec Chairman said that the investigation will examine two (2) sets of fingerprints of suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo in the poll body’s database. Previously, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confirmed that Guo’s fingerprints matched the fingerprints of Chinese national Guo Hua Ping.
