Honest Airport Cleaner Earns Praise From Netizens for Returning Passenger’s Bag Containing P50,000
An honest airport cleaner earns praise and admiration from the online community for returning a passenger’s bag containing P50,000.
Honesty is one of the most important values we can have. It means always telling the truth and being sincere with others. When we are honest, people can trust us and feel safe around us.
Being honest is not just about telling the truth. It also means being fair and straightforward. For example, if you find a lost wallet, being honest means trying to return it to its owner instead of keeping it for yourself. This kind of honesty shows integrity and respect for others.
Recently, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) praised one of their employees for his honesty after returning a bag containing a large amount of money at an airport.
On Monday morning (July 8, 2024), Joshua Bustamante, an airport facility cleaner, was doing his regular cleaning rounds at Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental, when he found a bag left on a push cart.
Without hesitation, Bustamante reported the found item to the airport management to locate its owner. After an hour and a half, the bag, which contained P50,000 and other personal belongings, was successfully returned to the passenger.
The passenger, who had traveled from Manila and was heading to Lanao, was grateful for Bustamante’s honesty.
Area Center 10 Manager Engr. Job De Jesus expressed his admiration for Bustamante’s actions, saying, “His actions exemplify the highest standards of honesty and service we uphold. Mr. Bustamante’s dedication and values inspire all airport employees, reminding us of the goodness and integrity present in our busy environment. We laud him for his honesty and swift action.”
Bustamante’s commendable deed has set a positive example for his colleagues and serves as a reminder of the importance of integrity and good character in the workplace.
