Miles Ocampo Finally Breaks Silence on ‘Pataba’ Comment by Joey De Leon

Miles Ocampo Reacts to ‘Pataba’ Comment by Joey De Leon

MILES OCAMPO – The “Eat Bulaga” host has reacted to the controversial “pataba” comment made by her co-host Joey De Leon, which sparked discussions on social media.

The incident occurred during Miles’s birthday celebration on May 1, 2024, on the said noontime show. In a circulating video clip from the show, host Tito Sotto III can be heard giving his birthday wish to Miles.

“Wala akong masasabi kundi pataas! Pataas ‘yong edad eh!” said the former senate president. “Pataas!” echoed some of the EB co-hosts. A little later, Joey suddenly chimed in with, “Pataba… eh, pababa…”

It was noticeable that no one laughed or paid attention to Joey’s remark. Vic then told Miles to blow out her birthday cake candles. It is remembered that Miles had previously explained her weight gain due to a thyroid health issue.

In a recent interview about the issue during a media conference for her new project “Padyak Princess” on TV5 on June 5, Miles stated that Joey apologized to her immediately and that she wasn’t hurt by his joke. “Si Boss Joey, sa mga Dabarkads, siya po ‘yong tao na updated talaga sa lahat,” said Miles. “Kaya po noong lumabas po ‘yong issue na ‘yon, updated siya agad. So the next day talaga, parang, ‘Huy, sorry ah. Sabi ko, ‘Okay lang po, Boss Joey.’ Parang sa amin naman po, wala lang ‘yon,”

Miles defended her co-host Joey De Leon by stating that “Eat Bulaga!” has a long-standing culture of joking and showing affection. She emphasized that within their group, Dabarkads, sensitivity is not allowed, and they are accustomed to each other’s banter, so there is no problem.

Meanwhile, Miles Ocampo, whose real name is Camille Tan Hojilla, is a Filipino actress, model, and television host. She began her career as a child star and gained fame as a mainstay on the ABS-CBN children’s sketch comedy show “Goin’ Bulilit.” Over the years, she has transitioned into more mature roles in various television series and films. Apart from acting, Miles is also known for her work as a co-host on the long-running noontime show “Eat Bulaga!”
