Heart Evangelista Says She’s Up for ‘Ang Tanging Ina’ Reunion Movie

HEART EVANGELISTA – Queen of Creative Collaboration Heart Evangelista reacted to the possibility of ‘Ang Tanging Ina’ reunion movie.

Heart Evangelista is a Pinay actress, TV personality, singer, endorser, visual media artist, philanthropist, socialite, and former first lady of Sorsogon province. Her parents, Maria Cecilia del Gallego Payawal from Bicol and restaurant tycoon Reynaldo Evangelista Ongpauco, are of Chinese-Filipino descent.

The 39-year-old actress recently took an oath as the new president of the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc. (SPFI). During her speech at the ceremony, Evangelista expressed her eagerness to work with other senators’ spouses and find ways to uplift our people and communities.

“Oo naman.” This was Heart Evangelista’s enthusiastic response when asked if she was interested in participating in the potential Ang Tanging Ina reunion movie. It’s notable that Heart played Portia, the fourth child of Ina Montecillo, portrayed by Ai Ai Delas Alas, in the iconic 2003 comedy movie.

Recently, news surfaced that Ai Ai has been in discussions with her former co-stars about creating a new version of their blockbuster movie. On Friday, June 7, GMA Network asked Heart Evangelista if she was game for the proposed reunion movie. She replied, “Yes! Marami nang narating si Portia sa kaniyang kaartehan.”

Heart Evangelista acknowledged that the scene with Nikki Valdez and Alwyn Uytingco, where they argue over Portia’s debut, is still trending. She added with a smile, “Yes… natuloy naman din siya sinabunutan nila ako and all that pero natuloy, natuloy ang debut ni Portia.”

Meanwhile, Heart is also preparing for her new role as President of the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc. She stated, “Well I really have to study the Senate Spouses Foundation Inc., I needed to study thoroughly kung anong mga naging project nila and basically it’s us continuing what they have done, updating what they have done like infrastructures, facilities, so babalikan namin lahat yun.”

Heart continued, “But at the same time, we wanted new things again, I’m kind of OC (over-conscious) when it comes to my work. Although this is not really work because it’s a foundation, it’s from the heart. Binigay naman din siya so siguro sabi ni Lord, it’s time to work and give back.”

When asked if her husband, the new Senate President Senator Chiz Escudero, advises her on her new role, she responded, “A little bit. But then parang busy din siya but I always ask his guidance.”

Heart also expressed her happiness that Senator Chiz trusts her with her initiatives.
