Upon seeing her child again after 4 years, a mother becomes emotional
MOTHER and SON REUNION – A mom couldn’t contain her tears upon seeing and embracing her child again after four years.
Salvin Vincent Salvacion shared with Manila Bulletin that they hadn’t seen each other for four years after he moved to the United States (US) when he was only 17 years old. Salvacion went to the US to have better educational opportunities and to get to know his father.
“When I moved here, my dad has a different family and didn’t grew up with him since he was in the US,” Salvacion shared. “So my mom decided to let me go and get a chance to know my dad in the US and I’m here,” he added.
When he surprised his mother by visiting her again in the Philippines, she immediately gave him a tight hug. “Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful mom! See u this year again,” Salvacion said.
Mother’s Day is a special day celebrated worldwide to honor and appreciate mothers and mother figures. It’s a time to express gratitude for the love, care, and sacrifices they make every day. The origins of Mother’s Day can be traced back to ancient times, but the modern celebration as we know it today has its roots in the early 20th century.
In the United States, the official Mother’s Day holiday was established by Anna Jarvis in the early 1900s. Anna Jarvis campaigned tirelessly to recognize the contributions of mothers and to create a day dedicated to them. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation designating the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day, making it an official national holiday.
Mother’s Day is typically celebrated with various traditions, including giving gifts, cards, flowers, and spending quality time with mothers and mother figures. Families often gather for meals or activities to honor and pamper mothers on this special day. It’s also a time for reflection, reminiscing about cherished memories, and acknowledging the significant role mothers play in our lives.
