Green Soldier Prefers to Help Others Over Diwata

Green Soldier: “Kung papipiliin ako ng taong tutulungan e siguro hindi na si Diwata”

GREEN SOLDIER – The social media personality reportedly prioritizes aiding others over assisting Diwata.

“Green Soldier” is the stage name of Tito Noel, whose real name is Jhonwel Reyes. He is a popular mime street performer in the Philippines, known for his entertaining performances dressed up in various costumes, including his memorable act as the Green Soldier.

Before his career as a street performer, he held various jobs such as a pedicab driver, construction worker, service crew member, janitor, and factory worker. He gained recognition through his amusing performances on TikTok, leading to his relocation to Baguio where his income from performances is now sufficient to support his family. Despite bringing joy to many people, the Green Soldier has faced criticism from some detractors.

Diwata is a social media personality and entrepreneur known for selling pares, a Filipino beef stew served with rice. Originally from the province of Samar in the Philippines, Diwata moved to Manila to seek better opportunities. His entrepreneurial journey, marked by hardship and resilience, included living under a bridge and working various jobs, such as a construction worker and a beautician, before finding success with his 24-hour pares business.

On Facebook, Green Soldier shared his thoughts on the gifts received by fellow content creator Diwata, or Deo Balbuena. Jhonwel said on Facebook that while he liked Diwata, he chose not to help him because he already had plenty of blessings.

He suggested it would be more meaningful to help others in need instead of adding to Diwata’s already ample resources. He pointed out the prevalence of poverty and the importance of helping those who are less fortunate. Jhonwel admitted he couldn’t yet help others financially but said he would if he could.

Despite both Jhonwel and Diwata experiencing significant online attention, Jhonwel hinted that social media fame doesn’t last forever, advising Diwata to be prepared for its possible decline.
