Christian Bautista Seeks Jose Mari Chan’s ‘Help’ in Dealing W/ Extreme Weather
CHRISTIAN BAUTISTA – Singer Christian Bautista seeks OPM icon Jose Mari Chan’s ‘help’ against sweltering weather.
Jose Mari Chan’s Christmas songs resurface annually, heralding the holiday season. Days before the “ber” months begin, memes featuring him flood social media, and he takes pride in being regarded as one of the “symbols of Philippine Christmas.”
Some of his notable songs include “Christmas in Our Hearts” and “A Perfect Christmas.” In 2019, he released a compilation of Christmas tunes as part of his album “Going Home to Christmas,” originally launched in 2012.
As the scorching heat became unbearable, Christian Bautista jokingly toyed with the idea of asking Jose Mari Chan to usher in the “ber” months early for cooler weather. Bautista shared a photo of himself with Chan, taken last November, on his Instagram page last Friday, April 26th.
In the caption, he created a playful conversation with Chan, fondly addressing him as “JMC” and weaving in references to their own songs.
“Sir JMC, can we just stop and talk awhile? Kailangan na po namin ang boses niyo para lumamig nang konti. Napakainit ng panahon po, sobra!” Christian wrote.
Jose Mari Chan purportedly responded, “April pa lang, Christian. Malayo pa September. Life is a constant change. Lalamig din sa tamang panahon.”
During their imaginary exchange, Christian humorously “begged” Chan to sing his Christmas tunes, but Chan wisely advised staying indoors to avoid the risk of heatstroke.
“Christian let us Refrain a little from going outside too much muna. Para di ma heatstroke…”
