Pokwang Seeks Child Support From Lee O’Brian
POKWANG – Kapuso actress and host Marietta Tan Subong a.k.a. Pokwang asked ex-partner Lee O’Brian to provide child support for their daughter Malia.
Pokwang and Lee O’Brian, who were in a relationship for about six years, welcomed their daughter Malia O’Brian in 2018. The couple confirmed their separation in July 2022, sparking discussions on social media regarding the reasons for their breakup.
The comedian has received support from her fans and sympathizers during this time.
In June 2023, Pokwang took legal action by filing a deportation complaint and visa cancellation against O’Brian, alleging that he had been residing in the country on a tourist visa for the past eight years. In response, O’Brian submitted a counter-affidavit, but the Bureau of Immigration (BI) issued a deportation order in December.
Despite their separation, Pokwang allowed O’Brian to spend time with their daughter Malia for her happiness.
Directly addressing her former partner, Pokwang demanded child support for Malia in the comments section of Atty. Bernice Piñol-Rodriguez’s Instagram video, discussed the rights of single mothers to seek financial assistance from estranged partners, even if the child is over 18 years old. Pokwang expressed gratitude to the attorney for the information.
Expressing her gratitude to the attorney, the actress wrote, “Grabe, thank you [attorney]. Napakalaking tulong. God bless you po.”
About a week later, Pokie revisited the Instagram post and urged O’Brian to provide support for Malia, but O’Brian made no immediate public response, similar to his previous behavior.
“Hoy, [Lee O’Brian], ano na? Panay lang party at golf kasama ng mga pokpok? Mag-support ka hoy!”
