Bespoke barong inspired by Charmander’s evolution
CHARMANDER EVOLUTION – A bespoke barong, or customized barong to be worn by a gentleman on his wedding day, has wowed netizens.
Charmander is one of the original Pokémon species introduced in the iconic Pokémon franchise, created by Satoshi Tajiri and Ken Sugimori. It is a Fire-type Pokémon characterized by its lizard-like appearance, orange skin, blue eyes, and a flame burning at the tip of its tail. Charmander is known for its cute and endearing demeanor, often depicted as loyal and courageous.
In the Pokémon world, Charmander is the initial form of its evolutionary line, evolving into Charmeleon at level 16 and then into Charizard at level 36. Charizard is a fan favorite and one of the most recognizable Pokémon, known for its powerful Fire-type attacks and dragon-like appearance.
Earlier, Lenard Santos shared photos of his customized barong on Pokémon Philippines, specially made for his wedding day. Being a fan of Pokémon, he saw this as a perfect chance to incorporate his passion into his attire. His favorite Pokémon, Charmander, was beautifully depicted along with its evolutionary line on the barong.
He expressed satisfaction with how the design turned out, as it showcased a part of his personality and interests. Lenard credited Oak St. Studios for the full-body photo and Santi Obcena for crafting the bespoke barong, indicating the collaboration between the photographer and the designer in capturing and creating this unique piece for his special day.
Meanwhile, “bespoke barong” refers to a customized or tailor-made version of the traditional Filipino formal attire known as the barong Tagalog. Unlike ready-to-wear barongs, which are mass-produced and come in standard sizes, bespoke barongs are specially crafted according to the client’s measurements, preferences, and specifications.
This personalized approach allows for a perfect fit and enables the wearer to choose specific details such as fabric, embroidery design, collar style, and sleeve length. Bespoke barongs are often favored for special occasions such as weddings, formal events, or cultural celebrations, as they offer a unique and personalized touch to the wearer’s attire.
