Legal Team of BGYO and BINI to Take Action Against Malicious Rumors
BGYO and BINI – The legal team of the two P-pop groups will take action against the malicious rumors thrown against them.
In response to the increasing negativity and falsehoods spread on social media platforms, the management of BGYO and BINI has sought legal counsel from Atty. Joji V. Alonso. An official statement was promptly issued to address the situation and warn those spreading harmful content.
Atty. Joji’s statement described how serious the attacks were, including careless posts and spreading of harmful, negative, and untrue accusations. These actions are harmful to the reputations of BGYO and BINI and also break cyberbullying and anti-libel laws. The statement stressed that once something is online, it’s there to stay, and reminded everyone online to avoid spreading hurtful information. It emphasized the importance of a safe online space and cautioned against doing illegal things while hiding one’s identity.
The past few months have been difficult for the members of BGYO and BINI as they have confronted online harassment and learned the importance of personal accountability. The groups have been encouraged by their experiences to stand up against online bullies and to seek justice.
To this end, the management teams are preparing to take legal action against those who perpetuate these unfounded rumors. They have engaged appropriate government agencies and private service providers to gather evidence to hold the perpetrators accountable. The filing of criminal cases is set to proceed soon.
Atty. Joji also pointed out the broader implications of online behavior, stressing the importance of kindness and respect in both virtual and real-world interactions. This reminder serves as a call to the public to act responsibly and to support efforts in creating a more respectful and law-abiding online community.
As part of the legal proceedings, Atty. Joji mentioned that Star Magic has directed her to initiate the filing of cases. A meeting with Star Magic is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, to discuss further actions, and the legal filings are expected to take place at the Justice Hall in Quezon City in the coming days.
