YOGA BEFORE ROBBERY – A female suspect was caught on CCTV doing yoga before robbing a bakery.
A 44-year-old woman from Richmond, Melbourne was caught by the police for allegedly robbing a bakery on March 3, 2024, at around three in the morning. She was seen on the shop’s security cameras doing exercises in the parking area before going inside.
Wearing all black clothes, she stretched and did poses for about two minutes as a warm-up before committing the theft. According to reports from 9 News Australia, after finishing her warm-up routine, she entered the bakery and stole various items, including the baker’s shoes, cleaning products, an iPad, and some bread.
The bakery’s Facebook page shared the security footage of the woman doing yoga poses outside the shop. In their caption, they expressed surprise at the footage, jokingly suggesting that it might be a pre-requisite before committing a break-in. They also mentioned that several items were stolen, including croissants, which seemed to be too tempting for the flexible burglar.
The woman, charged with theft, burglary, and going equipped to steal, was able to post bail. However, she is scheduled to appear in court at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in May 2024.
