Willie Revillame to Replace ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya’?

Willie Revillame is rumored to replace “Tahanang Pinakamasaya”

WILLIE REVILLAME – The television host is rumored to replace the axed noontime show “Tahanang Pinakamasaya” by TAPE, Inc.

Rumors have been circulating that GMA Network is choosing between “It’s Showtime” and “TiktoClock” to replace the said noontime show. However, in an episode of “Showbiz Now Na” last Thursday, March 7, the possible return of Willie to GMA to fill the void left by “Tahanang Pinakamasaya” was discussed.

According to showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin’s co-host, Romel Chika, it’s possible that Willie might return to the network. “Kung hindi man nagkasundo noon, malay mo nagkasundo kahapon. Posible. Dahil pare-pareho namang trabaho lang at nangangailangan din naman kung sino ang ipapalit doon. Baka naghahanap ang GMA,” Romel said.

On the contrary, Wendell Alvarez disagreed with Romel’s view. For him, Willie may not return to the said TV network. “Kasi ‘di ba may plano siyang tumakbong senador, e, malapit na ang eleksyon. Ano ‘to ‘pag nilagay siya sa noontime show hanggang December na lang siya? […] Bawal na, e. 90 days ang campaign,” Wendell explained.

Cristy agreed with the last co-host’s statement because Willie traded his former show “Wowowin” for the Villars. “Dahil doon daw [sa ALL TV] isa siya sa mga tagapamuno samantalang talent lang siya sa GMA 7. Kung maglalagay man ang GMA 7 ng bagong programa, siguradong hindi si Willie Revillame ang kanilang kukuning magho-host,” Cristy explained.

It can be remembered that rumors about “Tahanang Pinakamasaya” being axed started last Saturday, March 2. It was noticeable because of the apparent lack of enthusiasm from the hosts in their finale spiels. This was confirmed by Asia’s King of Talk Boy Abunda.

Meanwhile, “Tahanang Pinakamasaya!” was a variety show aired on weekdays and Saturdays, rebranded from “Eat Bulaga!” due to a trademark dispute. The dispute stemmed from an internal conflict within TAPE Inc.’s management, resulting in the resignation of hosts and production members from “Eat Bulaga!” The show resumed with new hosts and segments after the dispute was resolved. However, due to low ratings, it ended on March 2, 2024, and began airing replays of past episodes.
