Vice Ganda on “dream project” with Jaclyn Jose
VICE GANDA – The “It’s Showtime” host revealed that he has already pitched a “dream project” with late actress Jaclyn Jose.
It can be recalled that Vice Ganda and Jaclyn Jose worked together for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “Fantastica” in 2018.
Vice shared in an interview with MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN News that he wanted to work with Jaclyn on an “indie-type movie, pero comedy”. For him, Jaclyn’s unexpected death is especially saddening.
The comedian also noted that Jaclyn played a supporting role in Fantastica. In this “dream project”, he said he and Jaclyn would have been co-stars in a “comedy na drama na serious na indie type” of story that explored a relationship between mother and child.
“Iba ‘yung lungkot na naramdaman ko bukod sa siyempre, wala na siya. Meron kasi akong dream project din with her, na pinitch ko sa isa sa mga ano sa Star Cinema. Gusto ko ‘yung parang indie type na movie, pero comedy. Comedy na drama na serious na indie type na mag-nanay kami. Maganda ‘yan, sabi nila, for a change. Sabi ko, gusto ko ito, for ano lang, gusto kong magkaroon ng ganitong pelikula. Eh hindi na siya matutuloy,” Vice said. “Nakakapanghinayang, kasi gusto ko talaga ‘yung dalawa kami, ‘yung dalawa kaming bida.”
Vice Ganda added that despite being known for her dramatic roles, Jaclyn was also comfortable in the genre of comedy. He even shared some off-cam moments with the late actress, saying that she’s nice, easy to get along with, generous, and “hindi siya nakakatakot”.
Jaclyn Jose, whose real name is Mary Jane Guck, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the age of 60. She is survived by her children Andi Eigenmann and Gwen Garimond Guck.
Actress Andi Eigenmann confirmed in a press conference on March 4, 2024 that her mother passed away on the morning of March 2 due to myocardial infarction or heart attack.

The actress also asked the public to give them privacy and respect as their family grieves. She hoped that their statement would put speculations regarding her mother’s passing to rest.
Andi even wrote a poem for her late mother – a poem that conveyed a sense of hope as she eagerly anticipates the day they meet again.
