In Rizal, a pastor involved in road rage has been apprehended
PASTOR IN ROAD RAGE – A 59-year-old pastor involved in a road rage incident that occurred in Brgy. San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal on Saturday, March 16 has been arrested.
PCOL FELIPE B MARAGGUN, Provincial Director of Rizal PPO, identified the suspect as alias “Genaro,” aged 59, a pastor and resident of Rodriguez, Rizal, while the victim was identified as alias “Ben,” aged 44, a call center agent and also a resident of the said town.
Based on the initial investigation of the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station, the victim was riding his motorcycle while traversing the road towards Mayon Ave. Ext. when the suspect, driving his Hyundai Veloster, came into close contact with each other on the road, almost colliding.
The suspect immediately drew his gun and pointed it at the victim. At that moment, the suspect quickly maneuvered and left for Sub-urban Village, Brgy. San Juan, Rodriguez, Rizal. The victim promptly sought assistance from the police who were conducting a “Patrolya ng Bayan” operation at the time, and the police responded swiftly, resulting in the arrest of the suspect.
After being informed of his rights, the suspect was taken to the headquarters of Rodriguez MPS for proper disposition and documentation required for filing charges against the said suspect. The suspect will face charges of ‘Grave Threat’.
Meanwhile, road rage refers to aggressive or violent behavior exhibited by drivers in response to traffic-related frustrations or conflicts. It can involve actions such as aggressive driving, verbal insults, obscene gestures, or even physical violence. Common triggers include traffic congestion, perceived rudeness or disrespect from other drivers, or being cut off on the road.
