The casket scene of Marian Rivera in ‘My Guardian Alien’ was heavily criticized
MARIAN RIVERA – The latest project of the Kapuso Primetime Queen on GMA Network, “My Guardian Alien,” faced criticism from viewers due to a poorly edited scene.
In the scene, Marian’s character, Katherine Villegas-Soriano, was depicted inside a casket while a priest was praying. However, it was apparent to many viewers that Marian’s body was edited into the casket, leading to backlash against the show’s production team.
Responding to the criticism, the show’s director, Zig Dulay, acknowledged the issue and assured viewers that they would rectify the scene, emphasizing that it was still in the production process and not finalized.
The criticism sparked various reactions from netizens, with some expressing disappointment in the quality of the scene and others speculating about possible reasons for the editing choice. Despite the criticism, there were also those who appreciated the director’s responsiveness to feedback and expressed anticipation for the show’s premiere.
“My Guardian Alien” tells the story of an extraterrestrial named 11-1-20-8-5-22-9-12-5, who is trapped in a pod and accidentally crashes onto Earth from outer space. Upon landing, the alien assumes the appearance of a deceased woman named Katherine (Marian). The presence of the alien disrupts the lives of Katherine’s husband, Carlos (Gabby Concepcion), and their son, Doy (Raphael Landicho), leading to unexpected changes and challenges for the family.
Meanwhile, Marian Rivera Gracia-Dantes is an actress, television host, model, and entrepreneur. Rivera’s career began in the mid-2000s when she transitioned from commercial modeling to acting. Her breakthrough came with the lead role in the 2007 remake of the popular Mexican series “Marimar.” Since then, she has starred in numerous successful television shows, including “Dyesebel,” “Darna,” “Amaya,” and “Temptation of Wife.” Rivera has received several awards for her acting prowess, including a FAMAS Award and multiple PMPC Star Awards for Television.
