Lady Customer Airs Dismay After Receiving Piece of Wood Instead of Laptop She Ordered Online
A lady customer has expressed her disappointment after receiving a piece of wood instead of the laptop she ordered online.
A female customer was left disappointed when a parcel containing a laptop, which she ordered online, turned out to contain a piece of wood instead. Cheene Salvador, the buyer, expressed her dismay after receiving the unexpected item.
Salvador is expecting to receive a brand new laptop worth P29,000. However, upon opening the package, she was met with disappointment as she found only a piece of wood inside the box.
The buyer trusted the seller as they were well-known and had a huge following online. The seller’s legitimacy convinced Salvador to make the purchase, especially since the prices were comparable to other options in the market.
“Legit po ang seller kasi sikat po siya na bentahan. Marami rin po siyang followers. At the same time, flagship store din po siya. Tapos ‘yung price kasi nu’n parang same din siya na price sa on hand na bibilhin kaya naengganyo po kami na bumili sa store na ‘yun,” said Salvador.
Salvador also criticized the delivery process, noting that the parcel was left unattended on the terrace without any communication from the delivery worker. Fortunately, the seller immediately refunded the money paid for the laptop.
The seller also reported the lost item to the authorities. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) mentioned that customers who experience similar incidents have various options available to them.
According to DTI Assistant Secretary Amanda Nograles, customers can file a complaint with the DTI for deceptive sales. The penalty for such cases can amount to up to P300,000. Additionally, customers can also pursue criminal charges, depending on the circumstances of the incident.
“Magfile sa DTI as a deceptive sale. Para diyan po, ang parusa natin ay up to P300, 000, pwede rin siyang mag-file ng criminal case, siyempre case-to-case basis ‘yung approach. ‘yung sa ganyan, kailangan imbestigahan natin kung saan nangyari ang diperensya,” DTI Asec. Amanda Nograles said.
As of now, the company responsible for delivering the parcel has not issued any statement regarding the incident, prompting various reactions from netizens.
