If Quiboloy attends the Senate hearing, Bato dela Rosa is willing to be his security guard
BATO DELA ROSA: The senator volunteered to provide security for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy if the latter decides to attend the Senate hearing.
“Kung gusto nya, ako ang mag security sa kanya. Kahit na one-man security ako, haharangin ko lahat ng may threat sa buhay niya,” Dela Rosa stated in an interview on Radyo 630.
Dela Rosa made the statement after the Senate issued an arrest order against Quiboloy for continuously ignoring the invitation of the Senate Committee on Women regarding complaints of abuse by former members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), which he leads.
“Magvo-volunteer ako mag-security sa kanya kung nanaisin nyang humarap sa Senado ha, mas maganda sana. At the end of the day, the decision is coming from him and him alone,” the senator added.
Dela Rosa also expressed his reluctance to see Quiboloy being imprisoned, but he feels powerless in the matter. “Ayaw na ayaw ko sana, pero wala tayong magawa dahil hindi rin natin pwedeng i-violate ang rules of [the Senate],” the senator said.
Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri earlier assured Quiboloy’s safety in the Senate if he decides to attend the hearing. “We will give him the respect due any citizen of the country, at we will respect also his rights as an invited person,” Zubiri said in an interview on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Apollo Quiboloy is a religious leader and the founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, The Name Above Every Name, Inc., commonly known as the Quiboloy movement or simply KJC. He claims to be the “Appointed Son of God” and the “Owner of the Universe” within his religious organization.
Quiboloy has gained significant attention in the Philippines and internationally due to his charismatic leadership and controversial teachings. He has been involved in various legal and political controversies, including allegations related to his organization’s activities, which have led to investigations and legal actions against him.
