KOO HYE-SUN – The Korean actress, known for her role as the female lead in ‘Boys Over Flowers,’ has achieved high academic honors as she graduates from Sungkyunkwan University.
In a recent social media post, the 39-year-old actress shared her joyous news alongside graduation photos and her outstanding academic results. Writing in Korean, she expressed gratitude towards the alumni and professors of Sungkyunkwan University for their support throughout her academic journey, culminating in her graduation with high honors (Summa Cum Laude) on the 23rd.
Following her announcement, Koo Hye-sun received an outpouring of congratulatory messages from her fans, who expressed their excitement for her future endeavors in the entertainment industry. Her achievement comes after a period of personal challenges, including her divorce from ex-husband Ahn Jae-hyun in 2020, prompting her decision to take a break from acting and focus on her studies.
Ku’s educational journey has seen its share of twists and turns, initially enrolling in the Department of Broadcasting and Entertainment at Seoul National University of the Arts in 2003 before pursuing her passion for acting. Later, she resumed her academic pursuits at Sungkyunkwan University’s Department of Imaging in 2011, pausing briefly before returning in 2019 to complete her studies with remarkable academic distinction.
Meanwhile, Koo Hye-sun is a South Korean actress, singer-songwriter, director, and artist. She gained widespread acclaim through her notable performances in various television dramas, including “Hearts of Nineteen” (2006), “The King And I” (2007), “Boys Over Flowers” (2009), “Take Care of Us, Captain” (2012), “Angel Eyes” (2014), and “Blood” (2015).
She began her journey in the entertainment industry after gaining popularity as an ulzzang (a popular term in South Korea for people who gain fame over the Internet for their good looks).
