Gloc-9 Reveals His Son is Gay

Gloc-9 opens up about his son

GLOC-9 – The rapper-composer revealed in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News last Monday, February 26, that his son is gay.

On the anniversary of his song with “Mr. Pure Energy” Gary Valenciano titled “Walang Pumapalakpak,” Gloc-9 was asked about the success of “Sirena,” which was first released in 2012. It’s worth noting that “Sirena” won the awards for “Best Song of the Year” and “Best Music Video of The Year” at the Awit Awards in 2013.

Despite his initial hesitation to release it to the public, “Sirena” was embraced and supported by many. However, despite the significant influence of the song on his fans’ lives, Gloc 9 seemingly didn’t expect that it would have a profound impact on his personal life.

“My son is gay. No’ng sinulat ko ‘yon, hindi niya pa sinasabi sa amin. Hindi ko alam kung paano ko sasabihin sa anak ko kung gaano ko siya kamahal,” said Gloc-9. “Hindi naman ako ma-showbiz and I think para sabihin ko ito now, ako ay proud na proud sa anak ko. Ako ay excited sa kung ano man ang kaya niyang ma-achieve sa buhay niya,” he added.

The rapper further said, “Minsan iniisip ko how life gives you hints of magic here and there. No’ng natapos ko ‘yong ‘Sirena’ hindi ko naman alam. And I don’t mind. Anak ko ‘yon.” So he considers the said song as a gift not only for himself but also for his son.

Gloc-9, whose real name is Aristotle Condenuevo Pollisco, is a rapper, singer, and songwriter. He is considered one of the most influential figures in Philippine hip-hop music. He gained prominence for his fast-flowing vocal style and socially conscious lyrics, tackling issues such as social injustices, poverty, and patriotism in his music.

Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and accolades, solidifying his status as one of the best Filipino rappers of all time. He first gained attention as part of the gangsta rap group Death Threat before venturing into a successful solo career.
