Iresh Pallares, a Facebook user, shared photos of an honest boy who was spotted guarding a cell phone that a family had accidentally left in their motorcycle’s open utility box at Bogo City Park in Cebu. The young boy was identified as Niño Verdida.
The incident, happened when Pallares and her family went to the park for an enjoyable time. However, their child, Xhanem, had left the phone in the motorcycle’s open utility box. The family, unaware of their oversight, returned to find Niño sitting on their motorcycle, ensuring the phone’s safety.
Upon confirming the ownership of the motorcycle, Niño informed the family about the forgotten phone, explaining that he had taken it upon himself to guard it.
Aware of the potential for robbery in the area, Niño’s honest gesture touched the hearts of the family. Despite living in poverty and having a sibling with a disability, his noble character prevailed, as he never considered taking advantage of the situation.
Iresh Pallares extended a small reward to Niño, and others in the online community reached out to offer additional cash rewards. The family managed to reconnect with Niño through a neighbor who had seen the viral post.
The family not only fulfilled their promise of treating Niño to Jollibee but also provided him and his family with groceries and other essentials. The young boy can be seen enjoying the surprise and expressing his gratitude for the family’s generosity.
