In a vlog, Andrea Brillantes clarified that she was alone during her trip to Spain
ANDREA BRILLANTES – The actress reminisced about her solo trip to Spain in 2023, describing it as an opportunity to do something “extreme” for herself.
In June, she took a break from the spotlight amid her split with basketball player Ricci Rivero and explored tourist spots like Plaza Mayor and Generalife Gardens in Spain. Months later, she shared her vacation on her YouTube channel on Dec. 30, admitting feeling “anxious” about being “alone.”
In a voiceover, Brillantes expressed nervousness about flying and anxiety about the unknown. She revealed her emotions, saying, “I have never done anything this extreme alone for myself. I was excited, but also scared.”
During the trip, she felt “empowered” walking the streets alone at night, emphasizing the importance of discovering things independently. “As an actress and as a woman, I’ve never done this before. There’s something empowering about walking the streets alone at night. It’s empowering and scary at the same time because women were taught to not walk the streets alone.”
The video seemed to clarify speculations about Brillantes’ Spain trip, sparked by similarities with Daniel Padilla’s photos from his Spain trip three months later. Brillantes’ photos were posted in June 2023.
On Instagram, she expressed gratitude for the past year, acknowledging the highs and lows, and thanked everyone who was part of her journey. Reflecting on the year, she stated, “2023 was like a wild roller coaster, full of very high-ups and downs. It’s like I was three different people this year with everything that has happened shaping me into who I am now. But even then, I still would like to look at the brighter side.”
Brillantes, ranking 16th on TC Candler and The Independent Critics’ list of “The Most Beautiful Faces of 2023,” expressed gratitude for the experiences and people in her life. Other Filipinas on the list included Ivana Alawi (21st), Liza Soberano (28th), Janine Gutierrez (45th), and Belle Mariano (71st).
