Zeinab Harake on her MMFF debut
ZEINAB HARAKE – The content creator recently spoke about her big screen debut through a Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry titled “Kampon”.
She, who rose to fame as a content creator who released vlogs on her YouTube channel, is set to star in the upcoming film. Other cast members of the film include Beauty Gonzalez, Derek Ramsay, and more.
During the Parade of Stars last December 16, she expressed her feelings ahead of her MMFF debut in an interview with Inquirer.
Zeinab shared that she feels “overwhelmed” by the people’s support, especially those who waited outside and those who made an effort to show their support.
With a total of 10 film entriess participating in the 49th edition of Metro Manila Film Festival, the content creator shared the unique trait that sets “Kampon” apart from the other films competing this year.
“Actually all natural kasi minsan mas natatakot tayo kapag natural ‘yung pagkagawa. Hindi patayan hindi anything, talagang natural scary siya,” she said. “Sobrang ganda, marami kayong magugulat na scene, hindi lang rin sa part ko, pati ‘yung buong kabuohan talaga ng movie.”
According to her, “Kampon” is her genre that speaks so close to who she is. She also noted how beautiful the script was to make her say yes to participate in the movie.
The content creator was also asked about the contribution or significance of the Metro Manila Film Festival plays in the lives of Filipinos. In response, she affirmed that the MMFF serves as a way to uplift Philippine cinema again.
“Kampon” is an official entry for this year’s MMFF that will run from December 25, 2023 to January 7, 2024 in more than 100 cinemas in the Philippines.
