Sharon Cuneta Gets Asked If She Will Retire From Showbiz

Boy Abunda to Sharon Cuneta: “Will you ever retire?”

SHARON CUNETA – Here’s what the veteran actress said when she was asked if she will retire from showbiz.

The Megastar is set to star in her upcoming movie “Family of Two” – one of the official film entries for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

Sharon appeared on Monday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” where she talked about her career in the showbiz industry. At one point, Tito Boy asked her “Will you ever retire?

In response, the Megastar said that it was actress Vilma Santos who told her not to retire from showbiz. She also shared that she listens to the advice given to her by the Star for all Seasons.

Ate Vi [Vilma Santos] said to me, ‘Don’t. ‘Wag kang magre-retire’,” she said. “I tend to listen to Ate Vi. We text each other. I listen to her. But when I say retire kasi it may mean something else as opposed to what people would mean when you say, ‘O, magre-retire ako’.

According to her, it’s more correct for her to say that she’s going to “semi-retirement”.

In the same interview, the Megastar said that her upcoming film with actor Alden Richards is “one of the best” movies that she has done. She also emphasized that she has done “66-67” movies in total.

Sharon shared that she loved working on the movie and also loved working with the actor. She added that it’s so easy to get into her role not only because she’s a mother “four times over and because now I have a son” but also because of Alden.

He’s really like my son,” she said of Alden, adding that they are so alike in too many ways and even her children told her that he’s more like her son.
