Michel de Nostredame, known as Nostradamus, was a French astrologer, physician, and reputed seer who lived in the 16th century. His most famous work, “Les Prophéties” or “The Prophecies,” has captured the interests of many for centuries.
Nostradamus who was born in 1503, in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France is a curious and intelligent child, interested in various fields, including medicine and the mystical arts. He later became a renowned physician and astrologer.
The astrologer earns popularity for his collection of 942 poetic quatrains, written in a cryptic and symbolic language. These verses are said to contain predictions about the future, covering various events, from natural disasters to political disputes.
Many believe that Nostradamus predicted several historical events, such as the rise of Adolf Hitler and the French Revolution. His quatrains are written in a way that allows for various interpretations, leading to different predictions by different scholars and enthusiasts.
Critics believe that people often find meaning in his verses only after an event has occurred, a phenomenon known as post diction.
Here are some of his forecast for the upcoming year:
Naval Combat with China
Nostradamus allegedly predicted something similar to the current conflict surrounding China in one of his quatrains, he wrote about “combat and naval battle”.
The verse reads “Red adversary will become pale with fear. Putting the great Ocean in dread”.
The term “red adversary” refers to communist China, and the “great ocean” here can be referring to the Indian Ocean.
New Pope
Sky History reports that Nostradamus discusses the prospect of a new Pope in 2024. Given that Pope Francis is in his mid-eighties and has health concerns, a change in leadership within the Holy See may be imminent.
But he also issues a warning, saying that this new leader will “weaken his see” and stay in the role for a very long period. The exact definition of “weaken” is still debatable.
Climate Disaster
The reputed seer predicted extreme weather events including violent storms, wildfires, and soaring temperatures. This could lead to a great famine, which may result to starvation.
Royal Tumult
A “King of the Isles” will be “driven out by force,” according to one of the chapters in “The Prophecies.” Many think Nostradamus was talking to King Charles III who is already facing impeachment.
He also predicted that “one who will have no mark of a king” will steal this ruler’s throne. Given that Prince William is the probable successor, Prince Harry will succeed him as monarch of the United Kingdom. Get ready. The Spare will arrive.
