Does Mavy Legaspi look like the boy on the Alaska Milk logo?
MAVY LEGASPI – The actor went viral due to the similarities of his looks with the boy in the logo of Alaska Milk Corporation.
Alaska Milk, initially produced in the Philippines in 1972 by Holland Milk Products, Inc. (HOMPI), owes much of its popularity to the distinctive “Alaska Boy” featured on its label. Numerous narratives have emerged over the years surrounding the origin of this charming white boy with blond hair. Some claim an actual Alaskan child inspired it, while others suggest it might be Michael Uytengsu, the son of the late AMC Chairman Wilfred Uytengsu.
Contrary to these speculations, the official statement from the company asserts that the Alaska boy on the label is merely an artist’s interpretation. To put it differently, the cheerful boy portrayed on Alaska milk cans is purely a fictional character.
Recently, actress Carmina Villaroel took to the social media platform Instagram, where she posted several photos of her and her family on Christmas Day. The post was accompanied by the caption: “Merry Christmas and lots of love from our family to yours.”
Her post went viral, garnering mixed reactions from netizens. Some netizens couldn’t help but notice the appearance of Mavy Legaspi, the twin brother of Cassy. In the photos, the actor-model was sporting a blond hairstyle that others find resembling the logo of Alaska Milk Corporation.
One netizen even wrote: “Kamukha niya ‘yung nasa lata ng Alaska.” Another netizen commented: “Wala paring tatalo sa Alaska,” which is the famous tagline of the company. A family photo of the Legaspi family was even posted, side by side with a can of Alaska milk, on the Facebook page of celebrity pediatrician Dr. Richard Mata.
As expected, it generated more than 16k reactions. The celebrity pediatrician also used the tagline of the dairy company in the caption of his post.
