JIMMY BONDOC – The OPM singer-songwriter recently shared some of his insights and inspirations for taking up law.
The singer graduated from the University of the East College of Law while fulfilling his duties in PAGCOR (Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation) as one of its board of directors.

According to him, his exposure to public office challenged him to better understand law. Jimmy also shared how former President Rodrigo Duterte inspired him to be a better public servant.
“Nag-uusap kami eh and in a way he wanted to groom me. And I’m happy for that. I spent some time recently in Davao, and mas excited pa siya sa akin dun sa resulta ng bar,” Jimmy said.
The singer-songwriter added that his exposure to helping out indigents while in Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation inspired him in his future law practice to help out the defenseless and the less fortunate. According to him, he likes political law.
Jimmy is one of 10,387 Bar examinees who took the 2023 BAR exam last September 17, 20, and 24, 2023. The singer-songwriter is also one of 3,812 examinees who passed the BAR exam.
He shared in an interview with ABS-CBN News that he just stayed home and quietly rejoiced when he saw his name flashed on the screen instead of going to the Supreme Court to see the list of passers. This was his first take of the BAR exam and he passed.
The singer-songwriter even described the waiting game of the results of the recent BAR exam as the “longest three months” of his life.
“It’s not a source of pride but it’s an affirmation that if you really do your best, ibibigay naman ata ng Diyos sa ‘yo. You really have to give it your all. I’m a give-it-your-all kind of guy,” Jimmy said.
