It appears that “In His Mother’s Eyes,” featuring Maricel Soriano, Roderick Paulate, and LA Santos, was not included in the film festival. During the movie’s mediacon, Roderick expressed his sadness about the exclusion, mentioning that the film was originally intended for the MMFF. Despite the setback, he sees it as a part of life, acknowledging that some projects succeed while others do not.
“Nalungkot ako because naka-aim kasi daw talaga yung movie para sa MMFF. Kaya lang, ganun talaga ang buhay, e. May natatanggap, merong hindi. May nananalo, may natatalo. Parang ganun. So, ang akin, sana, no, kung nakapasok. Pero kung hindi, may ibang plano ang Diyos sa amin,” he said.
“Puwedeng blessing-in-disguise, di ba, itong showing date na napili namin sa 29, e mas makatulong at mas maraming audience. Ang akin lang naman, e, basta nandidiyan yung tao. Sana, bumalik na sila, manood na ng mga pelikula,” he added as per PEP.ph.
